The Job

As a Senior UX designer you will be responsible for gaining deep insight into our users' behaviors and needs through user research and product discovery. You will work closely with product, design, and engineering peers to translate research insights into new product features while shaping the core UX from early concept to launch. Additionally, you will have opportunities to improve the usability and design of existing features, flows, and design system patterns.

At Plainsight, you can expect a collaborative, respectful, innovative and supportive environment where our core values are on display in How We Show Up, How We Think, How We Work With Others, and How We Deliver. We expect all team members to understand, use, and advocate for these core values.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in user research sessions, synthesize and engage others in the findings to inform the direction of new and existing features.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, user flows, site maps and other artifacts to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas throughout early, mid, and late stages of a feature.
  • Help refine the architecture, user interface, product features, and end-to-end experience for new features/functionality.
  • Use Plainsight’s set of established design and visual patterns to strengthen consistency across our product suite. When necessary, innovate and expand upon our core set of design system components.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams of product managers, engineers, and marketers to help define business and feature requirements; analyze empirical data, usability findings, market research, and proven UX principles to justify and prioritize these requirements along with the product management team.
  • Assess and optimize the effectiveness of new and existing features by leading and participating in user research and user testing sessions.
  • Create, influence, and establish internal UX design pattern standards across different projects and initiatives.
  • Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and a seamless user experience to complex designs.
  • Rapidly iterate on design approaches and discard or revisit ideas that aren’t working.
