The Job

Plainsight’s Product and Engineering teams collaborate closely to build novel, proprietary machine learning tooling that enables our solutions teams to deliver enterprise machine vision applications with unique efficiency and quality. We build software and services that simplify the hardest problems in applying computer vision to challenging real world problems – we like to say our tools give our users “CV Superpowers.” We emphasize letting the humans involved do what they’re best at, so we focus on the problems that are harder for humans. Specifically, we prioritize tools that bring clarity to large sets of opaque unstructured data, that help prioritize the most impactful ML approaches/experiments first, and that reduce risk/cognitive load throughout the lifecycle. By helping solution builders scale, our team is the accelerating force of Plainsight’s future, and the Technical Project Manager is a central part of the team.

As a Technical Project Manager you will facilitate the software development lifecycle of our computer vision platform and tools. You will drive implementation of machine learning-oriented services and their features, from fleshing out initial requirements with the product and engineering teams, through validation testing with quality teams and users. The TPM role is central in our agile development processes, responsible for creating and consistently driving detailed implementation plans, facilitating sprints and ceremonies, and adhering to development and documentation processes. You’ll be hands-on with everything we build, and will be accountable for improving our key agile delivery metrics over time as well as scaling and maturing processes across teams.

At Plainsight, you can expect a collaborative, respectful, innovative and supportive environment where our core values are on display in How We Show Up, How We Think, How We Work With Others, and How We Deliver. We expect all team members to understand, use, and advocate for these core values.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the coordination between product and technical teams to flesh out requirements and priorities, ensuring consistent communication within implementation teams.
  • Execute the delivery of detailed implementation plans for our enterprise computer vision tools (including cloud services, edge device applications and/or firmware, etc).
  • Manage Sprint health (upcoming, in-progress, and retrospective) by diligently exposing and managing risks and dependencies as early as possible, staying close to the team’s in-Sprint work, and effectively drive awareness of and resolution to Blockers.
  • Manage releases (plans, approvals, gates, communication, etc) for Plainsight services and apps, in various environments (including customer environments).
  • Facilitate a positive Agile team environment that encourages self organization, continuous improvement, and delivery of high quality software.
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders via Plan Of Record updates, standardized reporting (e.g. Sprint velocity/health reports), ad hoc memos / messages, structured meeting notes, and other means.
  • Create and maintain process and sprint documentation in Jira and Confluence.
  • Use Plainsight’s tools, as well as external ones, to build computer vision solutions yourself in order to develop expertise in how enterprises use computer vision.
